What is the Pistol MK2 in FiveM?
The Pistol MK2 is the upgraded version of GTA V’s basic pistol. In GTA Online it’s the pistol you can upgrade at the weapon workshop: flashlight, scope, suppressor, compensator, special ammo and finishes. That’s why it looks more modern and more packed with detail than the good old Pistol. In FiveM its internal name is weapon_pistol_mk2.
On FiveM servers, which attachments you can put on it depends on each server. The skin changes how the weapon looks; the server still handles the attachments.
Why customize the Pistol MK2
- It’s already made to be customized. With so many possible attachments, it’s the pistol that lends itself most to making it your own, and a skin is the next step.
- It has more surface to show off. More parts, more slots and more edges than the regular Pistol. A Pistol MK2 skin has more room for light and detail.
- It works for RP and PvP. Whether you can carry it depends on each server’s rules. If you play PvP, also check the FiveM graphics settings for PvP.
Which styles suit it best
The MK2 has lots of edges, slots and parts. It looks good with designs that bring out its shapes:
- RGB neon on the edges. The more edges, the more lines of light. It’s the combo that stands out most at night.
- Character-shaped suppressors. They fit a weapon that, in GTA, is already the attachments pistol.
- Lasers and glowing eyes. For anyone who plays a lot at night and wants their gun to stand out in the dark.
- Horror or music collections. The busiest designs suit a weapon with this many parts.
If you’d rather go low-key, liquid marble also looks good on its body. But where the difference from other pistols really shows is in skins with light.
Pistol MK2 replace: what exactly it replaces
When you see “Pistol MK2 replace” on a pack, it means the skin replaces the game’s Pistol MK2. The typical mistake is confusing it with the regular Pistol: they look alike, but to the game they’re different weapons. If your server gives you the regular Pistol, you won’t see the skin. It doesn’t change the Combat Pistol or the AP Pistol either.
To know whether a pack is for the MK2, check the README: it says which weapon it replaces and the exact path. Other than that, it works like any client-side skin: only one per weapon, only you see it and the server has to allow mods. Does a Pistol MK2 skin work on the regular Pistol?
No. The Pistol and the Pistol MK2 are different weapons in the game, and each skin replaces only one. If the skin is for the MK2, you won't see it on the regular Pistol.
What does “Pistol MK2 replace” mean?
It means the skin replaces the look of the Pistol MK2 that's already in the game. It doesn't add a new weapon: when you pull out the MK2, you see it with the skin.
Can I put attachments on a Pistol MK2 with a skin?
Which attachments you can use (flashlight, scope, suppressor…) is up to each server, not the skin. Some skins come with their own suppressor design: ask in the Discord which parts each one changes.
