Every weapon with a different firing sound from the one the game ships with.
A FiveM sound pack (or soundpack) replaces sounds the game already has with different ones. It doesn’t add new cues: you hear the same things as before, just with a different sound. That’s why our PvP sounds are purely cosmetic. What we make falls into four parts.
The sound each weapon makes when it fires. It’s the first thing that changes when you install a FiveM gun sound pack, and the one you notice most in a firefight.
A sound of your own when you hit someone in the head or take them out, what’s usually called a killsound. If you play PvP, it’s the sound you’ll hear the most.
The mag coming out and going back in, the slide, the gun ready to go. Changing the reloads makes every weapon sound complete, not just when it fires.
Footsteps with a different sound. They don’t change anything in the game: only how they sound.
We test every pack in-game before uploading it to the Discord, so there are no sounds that cut off or sound weird.
On top of gun sounds, we make custom killsounds: your own sound when you get a kill or land a headshot, in the style you like. We show them to you in the Discord and you decide.
Some packs use a famous song as the kill sound. We don’t. Songs are copyrighted, and the FiveM Platform License Agreement (PLA) doesn’t allow third-party licensed music or modified game voices. That way the pack doesn’t depend on anyone else’s song.
A client-side sound pack lives on your PC, so only you hear it. Other players keep hearing the normal sounds. For the whole server to hear it, the server itself has to add it.
The upside of sounds is that they usually work in more places than graphics mods: with pure mode level 1, audio files normally get through. With level 2, no modified file gets through. Each server decides.
Usually it’s two .rpf files, WEAPONS_PLAYER.rpf and RESIDENT.rpf, which replace the originals in your GTA V folder, inside x64\audio\sfx. They don’t work in FiveM’s mods folder. Every pack comes with its README with the steps. Before installing, keep a copy of the two originals, and use the pack as it comes: mixing files from different packs can cause problems. It’s all step by step in the guide on how to change gun sounds in FiveM.
Our packs are for FiveM Legacy. In the FiveM Legacy vs Enhanced guide we explain what changes in each one.
A kill sound hits much harder with a visual effect. Check it out alongside our BloodFX and kill effects, and round it off with some 3D weapon skins or a citizen. In the Discord we have what every FiveM community has, and more: join the Discord and listen to each pack before you pick.
No. A client-side sound pack is something only you hear. For the whole server to hear it, the server itself has to add it.
With pure mode level 1, audio files usually get through. With level 2, the server doesn't load any modified file. It's all explained in the pure mode guide.
No. Songs are copyrighted, and the FiveM Platform License Agreement (PLA) doesn't allow third-party licensed music. That's why there are no songs in our packs.
Only if they don't include the same file. There can only be one WEAPONS_PLAYER.rpf and one RESIDENT.rpf, so the last pack you copy replaces the one before. Use each pack as it comes and don't mix loose files from several.
A sound pack only changes what you hear, and in FiveM we don't know of any global ban for sounds. What does count are each server's rules: if a server doesn't allow mods, don't use it there. Since it changes files in your GTA V, put the originals back before playing GTA Online. More in the FAQ.
Yes. In the Discord every pack is on video, recorded in-game. You can get all of it for free inside the community, and they'll explain how there; if you want custom sounds, ask about prices: join the Discord.
That is where you see every skin on video, ask for it, download it and ask questions. Everything can be obtained for free inside the community: join and ask how.
