What people ask us most about FiveM mods

It depends on the server. If it uses pure mode, the mods you put in the FiveM folder are ignored: no error, they just don't load (on level 1, sounds usually get through). There's no official indicator in the server list, so check its rules and read the pure mode guide.

There's no documented case of a global ban for visual or sound mods: FiveM global bans are for external programs that inject into the game. Even so, every server has its own rules and can forbid mods: respect them and, if you're not sure, ask on the server before installing anything.

Skins, citizens and sounds are data files that you copy yourself (into the FiveM folder or, for sounds, into the GTA V folder): they aren't programs and they don't inject into the game. Before installing, back up what you're going to change (your citizen folder or the original sounds), follow each pack's README and respect each server's rules. And the optimizer is a plain-text .bat: you can read it in Notepad before running it.

Yes: you can get everything for free inside the community, and the optimizer is free too. Only custom orders have a price. Join the Discord and we'll explain how.

Each pack on Discord comes with its README with the exact path. Usually skins go as .rpf files in the mods folder, and citizens go in FiveM's citizen folder. Sounds are .rpf files too, but they go in the GTA V folder, replacing the originals: they don't work in mods. It depends on the mod, your PC and the server, so we're not going to give you numbers. Some citizens have versions that are lighter on your PC. Measure before and after with the guide to showing FPS, tweak your graphics for PvP and, if your PC is struggling, see how to optimize FiveM.

Not for now. On FiveM Enhanced, in early access since July 21, 2026, pure mode is always on and graphics mods can't be used; our mods are for FiveM Legacy. There's also nothing published on whether Enhanced lets audio through, so don't count on sounds. We explain it in FiveM Legacy vs Enhanced.

Because it's a client-side mod: it's on your PC, so only you see it, and other players see the normal gun. For everyone to see it, the server has to add it. More in how to install weapon skins.

No. Each skin replaces one specific gun in the game, and two skins for the same gun can't be used at the same time. In weapon skins you'll find the ones for each gun, and the full catalog, with the gun for each skin, is on Discord.

Skins: take their .rpf out of the mods folder (better to move it out than delete it). Sounds: put the originals you kept back in the GTA V folder, or verify the game files from your launcher. BloodFX: follow its README in reverse. Citizen: put back the backup you made before installing it, or delete the citizen folder and FiveM downloads it again (it's the community method). Optimizer: use its undo option. You have it all in how to install a citizen and in the FiveM mods folder.

If you get a missing components error, close FiveM and delete the caches.xml file from the FiveM.app folder: that's the fix FiveM's documentation gives. If the problem started when you installed a mod, take out everything you have in mods and put the files back one at a time. It's all in the FiveM folder guide.

No. FiveM is PC only, with GTA V; there's no version for mobile phones, PS5, PS4 or Xbox. The “FiveM for Android” APKs going around aren't from FiveM: don't install them.
