What there is

Kill effects

Something happens when the enemy goes down: for example, a hologram drone that comes down and takes them away.

XP orbs and 3D objects

When you get a kill, orbs of light and 3D objects pop out, fall and bounce, like the XP in lots of video games.

What is BloodFX in FiveM?

BloodFX (or blood fx) is what FiveM players call mods that change blood and impact effects: what you see when a bullet hits someone. In the community, the name also covers everything that goes with it: kill effects and tracers. That’s why we have them all on the same page.

They don’t change damage, recoil or how guns work. They change what you see when you shoot and when someone goes down.

What we make

Blood and impacts for FiveM

We make blood and impact effects inspired by video games, movies and TV shows. You notice them with every bullet that lands, not just at the end.

What is a kill effect?

A kill effect is what happens on screen when you take someone out. For example, a hologram drone that comes down and takes the enemy away. Instead of staying on the ground, the enemy disappears with their own little scene.

XP orbs and 3D objects on kill

When you get a kill, XP orbs come out, like the ones in lots of video games: small lights bouncing where the enemy went down. A headshot brings out more, along with 3D objects that fall and bounce on the ground.

What are FiveM tracers?

Tracers (bullet tracers) draw a line of light behind every shot. They’re cosmetic: they change how the shot looks, not where the bullet goes.

We test everything in-game before uploading it to Discord.

Client-side BloodFX or server script

If you search “FiveM kill effect” on Google, almost everything you’ll find is server scripts. That’s a different thing, and it’s worth knowing the difference before you choose:

If you’re a player and want to see your effects on any server that allows mods, a client-side mod is what you’re looking for.

How to install it

Every pack on Discord comes with its own README with the exact path where each file goes. Before installing anything, back up the whole citizen folder. If you don’t know where the FiveM folder is or what goes in mods, plugins or citizen, it’s all in the FiveM mods folder guide.

If your server uses pure mode, it won’t load these files: no error, they just don’t show up. Every server decides, and we explain it in the pure mode guide. Our BloodFX are for FiveM Legacy; on Enhanced, while early access lasts, graphics mods can’t be used.

Combine it with the rest

A kill effect hits twice as hard with its own sound. Check out our gun sounds, with headshot and kill sounds, and add a citizen to change the sky and colors, or some 3D weapon skins. On Discord we have what every FiveM community has and more: join the Discord and watch each effect on video before you choose.

FAQ

What's the difference between BloodFX, kill effects and tracers?

BloodFX changes the blood and the impact of every bullet. A kill effect is what happens when you kill someone, like the hologram drone or the XP orbs. Tracers are the line of light that follows the shot. If two packs change the same files, usually only one works: ask on Discord before mixing them.

Can other players see my effects?

No. Our BloodFX are client-side mods: they're on your PC and only you see them. For the whole server to see an effect, it has to be a script that the server itself installs.

Why isn't my BloodFX showing up on my server?

Most likely the server uses pure mode, which ignores modified files without giving an error. It may also not be in the right folder: check the pack's README and the pure mode guide.

How do I remove a kill effect or tracers?

Delete the files you installed, following the pack's README in reverse. If the pack touched the citizen folder, restore your backup or delete the citizen folder so FiveM downloads it again.

Can I get banned for using BloodFX?

A BloodFX is just visual, and we don't know of any global ban for visual effects. But some servers forbid mods in their rules: if that's the case, remove it before joining. More in the FAQ.

How do I get a BloodFX or a kill effect?

On Discord, where you can watch each effect on video before choosing. You can get everything for free inside the community, and they'll explain how there. If you want a custom effect, ask about prices: join the Discord.

Everything is on the Discord

That is where you see every skin on video, ask for it, download it and ask questions. Everything can be obtained for free inside the community: join and ask how.
