What is the AP Pistol in FiveM?

The AP Pistol is GTA V’s automatic pistol. Unlike the Combat Pistol or the Pistol MK2, it doesn’t fire one shot per click: if you hold the button down, it keeps firing. It’s small, light and empties the mag really fast. In FiveM its internal name is weapon_appistol.

That way of firing is what makes it different, and also what makes its skin show so much: with every burst, your gun is front and center.

The AP Pistol in PvP and RP

• In PvP, at close range. Its strong point is close-quarters firefights, where fire rate matters more than accuracy. At medium and long range it’s harder to control. To see clearly in those fights, check the graphics settings for PvP.
• In RP, it depends a lot on the server. Since it’s automatic, each server decides who can carry it and how you get it. Read the rules before putting a skin on a gun you might not be able to use.
• It’s a gun with personality. If you like people to notice what you’re carrying, a skin is the way to do it.

One important thing: the skin doesn’t change anything about how it shoots. Not the fire rate, not the recoil, not the damage. Just the look. What we do is looks, effects, sound and Windows optimization; nothing that gives you an advantage.

Which styles suit it best

The AP Pistol is small and a bit boxy. It suits designs that give it volume or character:

• Coiled creatures. A 3D dragon or panther wrapped around the gun makes it look much bigger.
• Horror collection with glowing eyes. In a burst at night, the glowing eyes show with every shot.
• RGB neon. On a gun that moves this much with recoil, the lines of light look great.
• Kawaii. Soft colors and cute figures on an automatic weapon: a contrast that doesn’t go unnoticed.

Pair it with tracers and sound

On a gun that fires this much, whatever comes with each shot stands out more than on any other. If you want everything to match, add some BloodFX tracers, which draw a line of light behind every bullet, and a gun sound pack for the shots and the reload. Just like the skin, they’re cosmetic: they don’t change where the bullet goes.

AP Pistol replace: what the skin replaces

When a pack says “AP Pistol replace”, it means the skin replaces the look of the game’s AP Pistol: it doesn’t add a new weapon. The skin replaces only the AP Pistol: it doesn’t change the Combat Pistol or the Pistol MK2. Other than that, it works like any client-side skin: only one per weapon, only you see it and the server has to allow mods.
